Getting rejected

How many things do we shy away from because we’re afraid to be told “no” or an answer other than the one we want to hear? A lot. If there’s anything the past few weeks have taught me, it’s that rejection isn’t so bad and when you stop letting that fear rule you (and maybe even start conquering it), pretty cool things can happen. I am about a thousand times more productive and on my game when the weather is warm and sunny than when fall rolls around. So, it’s essential for me to invest a little more of my time into things that will help boost my energy and keep me going. A piece of art or music that speaks to you

It could be a print in a vintage frame from your favorite thrift store, or your first original oil painting to make your home, home. Art has a way of healing- you don’t have to create it to reap the benefits. Maybe it’s a painting that reminds you of what you’ve overcome, gives you hope for the future, or simply lifts your mood a little every time you look at it. Treat yourself to something that challenges you and/or brings you peace.

A Soul Cycle class

I just had my first Soul Cycle experience when I was in New York City for New York Fashion Week thanks to Ravayna Coe, and I’m impressed. I’ve taken a few spin classes around Pittsburgh and was not a fan, but the dynamic nature of the Soul Cycle class and the bits of inspiration sprinkled in were definitely something I could get down with more often if I lived in a different city (there aren’t any locations in Pittsburgh). But, if there’s one near you, definitely try it out! When we started cooling down, I was surprised class was over; that’s how fast it went by.

Beachy hair all year long

In case you haven’t noticed, I am not one of those, “OMG, my life gets better when it’s bombarded with pumpkin spice everything” kind of girls. Give me the sun, sand, beach, and summer everyday, pretty please.
