VLOG 4: Can Stress and Joy Co-Exist?

They say that comparison is the thief of joy, but I’d like to argue that stress is. Have you ever tried to enjoy date night when rent was due 5 days ago, or live in the moment when you can’t stop thinking about everything that’s on your to-do list tomorrow? It’s not easy. Some days, we can go to yoga, write down what we’re grateful for, and do mindset work until the cows come home (not that I have any cows that need to come to my house, but you know, that’s what “they” say), and yet the stress still wins. Then, sometimes the stress starts to win day after day until we question what joy even feels like anymore. But, money and to-do lists are stresses that probably aren’t going to go away in the immediate future (not for me at least). So my question is, is it possible to

VLOG 3: Confessions of a Serial Pivoter

How do you know when it’s time to pivot and when it’s time to have patience? I don’t know what the answer is, but I can tell you that I’m heavily drawn towards pivoting (jumping from idea to idea depending on whatever looks fun and exciting at the moment) and significantly lacking in the patience department… which is [spoiler alert] not the best strategy and it, as you’ll see in the video, gets me into a lot of trouble. In this week’s vlog post, while wearing stunning $17 earrings from 7 Charming Sisters (which you’ll see again real soon!), I’m letting you gems in on what starts to go through my brain when things aren’t exactly “working”. It sucks that progress and profit seem to be attached at the hip and that we’re often blinded from seeing any amount of progress if profit isn’t stepping into the picture at the

Adventures at Animal Kingdom

What’s in this post: adventures at Animal Kingdom including why it’s sometimes necessary to run into the rain (literally and figuratively) and the brightest, most comfortable sneakers ever!  The Look: Low Sinchi Colorful Sneaker from ISKAY Shoes ($60.00) // Natassia Cupro Dress from francesca’s ($38.00) and here’s a similar one ($44.00) in case they don’t have your size // Violet Ray Kendall Backpack ($49.95) // Wing Ding Pew and Zigger Small Beaded Bracelets from the Kutula Kiss Desert Rose Collection (COMING SOON!) Animal Kingdom might just be my favorite Disney park. There’s just something about the atmosphere that brings out the inner adventurer inside all of us. For example, every time I see the Festival of the Lion King show, I question my career path because my heart is definitively sure I’m meant to be the flying blue bird. Maybe one day when I’m famous they’ll invite me to be her for a

VLOG 2: Cozying Up to Rejection

This face perfectly expresses how I feel about three things in particular: cold weather, my little sister going off to college, and being rejected in my business (and also vegetables, but that’s not relevant to this video). I’m aware that I might lose some fans when I say this, but I am not a fan of fall… like at all. And, my birthday is even in October! I like hot summer days and tropical everything. I do not like pumpkin spice anything or having to wear gloves when I text outside. But whether I like it or not, fall is coming (ugh). There’s a lot of other things going on in my life right now that I’m just not ready for – like my sister going off to college, and facing rejection in my business. But, like seasons, these things are coming regardless of my stance on them. So, this

A Reminder About Magic from My Disney Vacation

The Look: Satin Surplice Dress from Target ($29.99) // Similar Steve Madden Flat Sandals from Macy’s ($59.00) // Asymmetrical Green Amethyst & Sterling Silver Necklace ($50.00) and Sterling Silver Long Drop Ripple Earrings ($26.00) from Soasa Designs [also seen here] // Kutula Kiss Optic Rainbow and Peace by Peace Camo Small Bracelets from the Desert Rose Collection (coming soon!) Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on the magic? Like everywhere you look (and by look I mean check Instagram), it’s as if people are being sprinkled with fairy dust floating off to their big dreams. It feels like everyone knows where the secret passageway is. It seems that the people you see online have some kind of magical fairy godmother and you have no idea what you have to do to get her to pay you a visit. I mean, inside, you know that can’t be right because everyone struggles; everyone has a story. But, since hardly anyone

VLOG 1: Where I’m at Right Now

I used to be terrified of video content, but to be honest, I’ve kind of fallen in love with it once I realized I could be imperfect, a hot mess, and the real me (and show up with little to no make up on in workout clothes). I wanted to create this space so that I have something to look back on. Some place where I can be reminded of the small, weekly stories that bring me to wherever I’m going. I hope that by sharing the everyday moments, you’ll see that you’re not alone in the mess that is your life (because I totally don’t have my shit together). In this first vlog episode, I’m sharing a little bit about where I currently am in my journey, why I challenged myself to get rejected 20 times last week (along with how it went), and I’m also debuting my new

Your Dreams Are Sourced from Your Own Potential

Your dreams are sourced from your own potential. So, if you weren’t capable of doing this, your intuition would’ve never let you start it. Just keep going. Somewhere inside of you there’s this little, quite voice that believes in you because you’re still here, showing up for your big ideas. Whether you’re setting off on a new adventure, or questioning whether the one you’re currently on is still worth pursuing, listen closer. Intuition is quite. While its calculation process recalls information from the past, there is no worrying about the past or future because the process never reaches your areas of higher thought to think about it. That voice won’t be jumping for excitement, but rather sounds pleasant and unforced, content almost. Just listen, don’t think.   Listen more to that whisper than you do to the screaming doubts going on inside your head. It knows you’re far more capable than what

From Struggle to Shine: Seed Body Care

In this Post: Meet Rebecca of Seed Body Care who started the brand with her husband after struggling with infertility. Their story is one of so much strength. As you’ll see below, I’m a huge fan of the Satin Lip Glosses! Shop Seed’s all natural seed based formulas with the code SeedGem for 20% off! The other day, I can’t remember where I read it, but it was something about how we should have “launch showers” for when people in our lives start businesses – just like a baby shower, or wedding shower, or housewarming party, etc. I was like, “OH HELL YES”. I mean, you can have a launch party, but let’s face it, when you’re starting out, you’re just crossing your fingers tightly hoping you break even with what you have to dish out to hold an event like that. Starting a business is a big freaking deal. It’s a monumental
