Ladies, this post may very well change your life… Well, at least the life of your heels! For soooo long, I thought I was the only girl in the world with this problem: I’d go and buy a pair of heels, and no matter how cheap or how expensive they were, a few months later the ‘heel cap’ would be completely worn off, making a horrific metal-to-floor shrill upon impact when walking (or I guess running in my life). Once that would wear away, into the garbage that pair went. Apparently, this part of the heel is replaceable, but come on, who knows how to do that, and how many cobblers do you know that are still around? To put things into perspective, I was buying a new pair black pumps every other month. Once the tip of a heel is damaged, there is no longer a purpose for that
An inside look on what you don’t know about photo shoots: Alarm goes off. It’s 4:00am. (Hits Snooze). 4:15am. There’s the alarm again. Ugh. (rolls out of bed). It’s a Thursday morning. Still pitch black outside by the way. I throw on an oversized pink blouse, leggings, and boots – trying to look at least half put together. 5:00am and we hit the road. It’s off to Fort Wayne, Indiana (normally a 5 hour drive) for a photo shoot with Willyum Photography. Big shout out to Shaun Novak for being my road trip buddy for the day (side note – he makes music and has an absolutely phenomenal voice that you should check out here). Anyways, of course this is a shoot for my all time favorite fashion designer, Andrea Howell of Tidal Cool Creations. I mean, I don’t just take day trips like this for anyone! When you model for TCC,
With my lifestyle, my hair takes quite the beating everyday. After all the numerous photoshoots, fashion shows, and event styles I have put it through over the years, I honestly have to stop and be so thankful that I’m not bald yet. I couldn’t even tell you how much money and time I have spent throughout my life looking for deep conditioners, protective sprays, and whatever else I could find. Plus, I have even tried my fair share of DIY concoction experiments at home (special thanks to Pinterest). I should also mention that ever since my gal and master stylist, Melissa Altenbaugh of Swank Hair Studio, taught me how to curl my hair with a want, I’ve been pretty addicted. I hardly ever leave my house without curling my hair anymore. I’ve been taking Vibrance Vitamins for Hair Growth from Eu Natural for about three weeks now (which have consisted of two photoshoots,
Fun fact: I’m originally from New Jersey (yes, I call it soda, not pop, and I am a huge fan of the New Jersey Devils). Anyways, growing up so close to NYC, it feels like home to me when I come back and I’ll take any excuse to go there. While probably unnecessary, but totally worth it, I completely insisted that I needed to be in NYC for the full seven days of fashion week festivities. I have literally been longing for this since I left NYC in September after last fashion week season. As I’m looking back on my favorite moments to share with you in this post, I cannot believe it went by so fast and that I’m already home! Not cool. Being a model/blogger/publicist/business owner, my time is very valuable and very limited. Unfortunately, makeup is not something I have the ability to spend a lot of time on, so I praise anything that helps cut steps in my beauty routine. Meet Studio Gear Cosmetics, a high-quality cosmetics line that prides itself on maintaining an affordable price tag. The past few days, I have been absolutely loving their new hydrating CC Cream. The product literally transforms and enhances your skin complexion upon impact leaving you with an all-day-long flawless face.
Forget the cold, let’s talk about brownies! [WARNING: If you are one of the New Year Resolutioners kicking sweets in 2014, this post is not for you. Proceed with caution] I hate the cold and it’s currently -2 degrees out. So, what better thing to do on a freezing Monday night in than bake some goodies…
The fight for the perfect foundation is officially over! Every time I go makeup shopping, I buy a different foundation because in the 12 or so years that I’ve been using makeup, I have yet to find a foundation that I love…until now. Well, I can officially say so-long to the search. A few weeks ago, I was shipped samples of Root Mineral Makeup to try out – the Pearl Powder Mineral Foundation, the Bronze Powder, and a Kabuki Brush to be exact. I was so surprised by the results! Some background on my skin to start: My skin and I, we have a love hate relationship. I am very lucky in the sense that my skin in fairly even and I hardly ever breakout. On the other hand, my skin is very sensitive and always dehydrated. I always have a reddish undertone to my face that I hate. Plus, since my skin
I have probably the biggest sweet tooth in the world (but I work out like five days a week so it evens out right?) Anyways, I love chocolate, candy, ice cream, desserts, and anything sweet in between. I also have a slight obsession for pretty things and I just so happen to enjoy unique gifts, especially during the holidays. So, when I found the Les Cinq Amandes campaign on Brandbacker (brands and bloggers – you both need to check out this site by the way), I was all about it. Shortly after joining, I received a box in the mail and inside were the most adorable sweet treats ever! Les Cinq Amandes combines confectionary with art to create unique gift presentations that are sure to captivate both eyes and taste buds.
