In October, I was so very thankful to spend a must-needed week in gorgeous Puerto Rico with my family. While I had hoped to show you some more beachy OOTD looks, my fam wasn’t quite so thrilled about taking my blog photos, so here’s what I ended up with, which is fine! My mind needed a break from coordinating outfits, scheduling time to take photos, and editing images… especially editing images. Now, onto the fashion! Does this dress look familiar? I wore the same bamboo jersey and linen ruffled Liberty 61 dress in black ($340.00) for my first day at New York Fashion Week back in September! See, I told you this was an incredibly versatile piece! I adore Liberty 61 as a brand because the quality of the pieces are second to none. Each is designed with you – the responsible buyer, traveler, mother, daughter, helper, socially-conscious, whimsical creatives, purpose filled adventurer, and the environmentally considerate – in mind.
Are your nails Halloween ready yet? Check out this new Halloween nail art tutorial from Julep that uses colors from their Happy Halloween Welcome Box. Julep polishes are my absolutely favorite because you are literally polishing your way to better nails. Breakthrough Oxygen Technology lets your nails breathe so they grow healthy and strong. Here are the steps to this easy orange-and-black mani: 1. Paint one coat of orange 2/3 of the way up your nail. Let dry. 2. Using a striping tool (or a toothpick!) to polish on black points. 3. Polish the outline of the points with one coat of black polish. 4. Add a top coat and you’re done! Extra nail tip! To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer

Ombré isn’t a new trend–we’ve been seeing it for years, on everything from clothing to nail art to hair. In my opinion, it’s not even a trend at all, it’s really a constant that just happens to be generating more buzz than usual lately. And it’s definitely not fading! Why? Probably because ombre is so fun to create and so easy to DIY. Julep has shared a new ombre nail art tutorial that uses colors from their ‘Fall Into Ombre’ Welcome Box – FREE when you join Julep Maven. I love this tutorial because it’s so simple for anyone to do, even those who are DIY challenged, like myself. Let’s get started! 1. Choose three polishes that blend well together, spanning from dark to light. Not sure what to pick? You can’t go wrong with a deep, opaque color, a lighter shade of the same color, and white. Used here are Julep’s Elise (Bombshell), Danica
We’re suckers for a bright pop—even when (especially when?) it’s super stealthy. So, if you want to add a pop of color to a basic mani, read on! Our friends at Julep have shared a new Flip Side Manicure nail art tutorial that can be used with literally any polish combination. We suggest pairing a bold with a neutral (in the example, Julep uses on Florence top and Jenna on the flip). It’s super simple to paint a Flip Side mani on your own – here’s how in three easy steps without making a mess: 1. File and scrub nails and don’t forget underneath! Try Vanish Cuticle Softener & Remover under and over to clear the way. Then, paint the top of your nails just like you normally would – for best results, we recommend two coats. Be sure to let dry completely. 2. Grab your Plié Wand with Striping Brush tip, pinch back those finger-pads,
Julep’s new Jelly polishes are so much fun! Julep’s Jelly gets its name because it dries translucent and jelly-like (unlike other finishes you may be familiar with like creme, matte or glitter). One coat of Jelly polish is usually pretty sheer, so you can build and build until you get the candy-like (think Jolly Rancher effect) mani you’re craving. Here a few ways to use your Jelly Polish gift to bump up the glam factor of your current mani: Add a Jelly tip on matte polish for a fierce French mani Vamp up any black Pair a jelly with a similar color for extra pow-wow-WOW Pop some Jelly on white Use as a top coat on nail art Add some texture in your nail art—jelly stripes & dots are the best!
