Living in the Moment with Francesca Liberatore SS18
There is a wall of shoes, suitcases stacked, clothes scattered everywhere, and our phones charging. We’re running out of time. Certain outfits then decide they hate us and will not pull up, push down and adhere to our bodies. Then the zen takes over. I have a flash of all the memories from the past few days and remember, “you are at fashion week, just go with it.” Why in the world do I need to stress when the whole thing is out of my control anyway? I don’t need any more gray hairs…
Whenever I am about to travel, I stress and plan almost every minute of every day in order to give myself the greatest experience. So much so that I forget the over all purpose is to live in the moment I am given and to make the best out of it. To enjoy it for what it is, not what I thought it should be. There can be enjoyment in unpredictability. There was a simpler time where all you could do was enjoy the moment. Francesca Liberatore reminded me that keeping my calm and going to a place of making life simpler is important and often underrated. We are constantly struggling to get to the next event quicker, finish our drinks faster, shorten conversations and we miss what is right in front of us.
Liberatore’s silhouettes coming down the runway kept having the effect of floating in the wind. The fabrics and colors were effortless and charming. I wanted to be in Italy, somewhere in Tuscany with good wine and a sunset. When you’re living in the moment you can’t have your clothing complicate things. You need them to work with your body and your environment not against it.
This dress coming down the runway looked so easy to wear, especially with the pockets. I really loved that she used black to break up the dress a bit.
Palazzo pants are so easy to dress up and down, and I liked the whimsical pattern she used for the top.
This lace top and skirt looked so beautiful coming down the runway. I was imagining the multiple ways this top could be worn!
Obi and Corest belts, are a huge trend right now. This belt really gave such a soft pattern a bold touch.
Using a T-Shirt to dress down an elaborate pattern shows that this skirt is versatile and along with the belt, it really helps to create an effortless look.
I was so in love with this look. The coordination between the pockets and the belt was the perfect amount of stand out detail to add to such a bold fabric.
The color and silhouette of this dress really caught my attention on the runway. It was fresh and flattering.
