Falling into Comfort

In case you haven’t heard, “get out of your comfort zone” may just be the trendiest phrase among entrepreneurs now and forever… And I agree, getting out of your comfort zone is important, well, necessary actually (we even have a guest post on “Why Eliminating Your Comfort Zone Should Be Priority Number One“), BUT in order to get out of your comfort zone, you need comfort. Everyone is like “oh fall, I love you so much” and I’m over here like “It’s time for me to move south”. Fall makes me uncomfortable. I’m not all about dead leaves, or pumpkin spice everything (especially because I’m allergic to cinnamon), and it reminds me that winter is coming and I just can’t deal with that. I am about the fall fashion, though. And why? Because it’s comforting. As we switch from easy, summer styles to chunky, oversized knits I’m reminded how essential

Style Trends for Fall 2016: Must-Have Items

Although fashion is much trendier and stylish than rollover minutes from AT&T, fashion does exactly this each and every year. Style trends for Fall 2016 are looking pretty in my opinion, and here’s why. Forecasters give you the trends, key items, fabrics and colors based off of many things such as cultures, ideology, philosophies, the economy, and street-wear. Then, retailers put these garments in their stores made from creative geniuses, a.k.a. designers, who give us the power to choose what we want to wear and how to wear it (or rather they inspire the range of choices that we will get to choose from). Thus, creating the biggest themed party in history each and every year that every person on earth is invited to attend. In the spirit of creative freedom, here are the key items that are trending this fall. Show us how you style them on your Instagram and don’t

How to Wear a Blanket Scarf

This may very well be my favorite trend for fall. It’s so comfy. Like how many opportunities do you really get to practically wear a blanket around you in public? You might be expecting some elaborate, step-by-step tutorial on wearing a blanket scarf but that’s not even necessary to rock this trend. Literally all you have to do is throw it on and you’re good to go! Don’t over think your black scarf styling! This is The Real Deal Zaza Blanket Scarf in Beige ($26) from Kiki La Rue! For this laid back, fall look, I paired my blanket scarf over the Convertible Versatile Maxi Dress from Hipknoties ($74.99) in Hunter Green. Hipknoties are such a cool concept! Each piece is a one-size-fits-all multi-way convertible dress that flatters all women. Each garment can be styled 30 ways! Not only is it convenient to have so many options, but it’s fun to wear! It’s

NYFW Day 2, Look 2: Fall Fashion Staples

I believe in the comfort of fashion. According to Google, the definition of comforting is “serving to alleviate a person’s feelings of grief or distress.” Now, I’m not saying you should be able to walk 4 miles in every pair of fashionable heels or that you can justify socks with Birkenstocks just for the sake of comfort, but what I am saying is that in some sense or another, what you wear should provide you some kind of comfort – whether physical, mental, or emotional. When you find a brand, like the one I’m about to tell you about, that can provide multiple angles of comfort, it’s definitely a hero (channeling my inner Lori Greiner here). Plus, after a long day of running around NYC (check out my first look of the day and it’s adventures here), comfort is definitely on the top of my priority list. Meet Evy’s Tree, luxury
