From Summer to Fall

In this post: As inspiration for your fall outfits, I’m showing you how I turned the dress I lived in this summer into a fall look. I’ve also included a few things that help me get through this time of year, because fall isn’t exactly my favorite season.  The Look: [sp] Go for Gold Necklace ($27), Good Mood Earrings ($17), and Hit the Ground Running Ring ($27) from 7 Charming Sisters // Similar olive shift dress (ON SALE – $23) // Similar navy cardigan ($98) or budget friendly option here ($23) // similar ankle booties ($70) // Taylor Tassel Crossbody Bucket from 88 Handbags (ON SALE – $40) // Escape Watches Soho Watch ($150) I live in Pittsburgh, PA, and although fall has started on the calendar, we’ve been having 87 degree days and I am SO okay with it. Therefore, I’m going to soak up these uncommonly warm September days and do everything I

15 Little Things Every Person With Anxiety Needs

Having anxiety is like having butterflies in your stomach for any and every given reason, only they’re not friendly, flirty butterflies, they’re more like angry bees. I was recording videos (for the first time ever) last week for From Struggle to Shine (a program where I teach entrepreneurs to strategize stories to build deeper connections with and more support from their audiences) and I felt like said bees were going to be the death of me. There’s physical discomfort – stomach churning, heart racing – topped with mental chaos, not one thought after the other, but all together to create a nonstop buzz.. What do I say? How many freaking times am I going to need to record this before I get it? Will my clients think I’m an idiot? Are my forehead wrinkles showing? I’m too young for forehead wrinkles. Do I really need to do video content? (Yes

Act like You Know What You’re Doing

For my skimmers, here’s what you’ll find in this post: one look + one life lesson. This one’s on the opportunities you’ll create for yourself when you simply act like you know what you’re doing. The Look: Endless Rose Double Breasted Romper from SerenDipity Boutique // Drew & Co Zircon Gold Hoop Necklace ($48.14) & Gold Open Bangle ($45.85) // Amazfit Activity Tracker ($80.00) // Ella+Mila “Purple Reign” Nail Polish ($10.50) // Alterre Shoes Mist Grey Mule ($145.00) // Styled by Christina Imberlina The Lesson: I first got bit by the New York Fashion Week bug in September 2013. We weren’t going to leave for NYC until 9/5, BUT one night when I was working through my chaotic inbox, I received an invite via Fashion GPS for the 10th Annual Style Awards. I instantly RSVP’d and without hesitation printed out the confirmation barcodes that landed in Gmail. After Googling what the Style Awards were (that was the last year they held them I believe) I was on

More Than Fair Trade: The Values Behind the Movement

I have fallen down the rabbit hole. Somehow, I ended up in Alibaba.com. There, hundreds of thousands of jewelry manufacturers tout their wares. I see a silver cuff bracelet, not unlike the one Argentina, one of the talented artists who produces my jewelry designs, just spent an entire day and a half working on. The made in china one sells for $10. This is definitely not a good place for me to be. Tonight, I will lie awake wondering if it will ever be possible to make a living off of doing what I love. I ask myself if maybe, it is time to accept the fact that this is simply not going to work. There are factories out their making the same thing I make, for a tenth of the cost. There are brands out there investing millions of dollars in marketing. Maybe, dreams don’t always come true. Maybe it’s time to listen to my family and

Expanding Your E-Commerce Reach Without Breaking The Bank!

You’ve got a website, but now what? When I started Bijouxx Jewels 2 years ago with my partner we were a little naïve, so to speak, in terms of website traffic. Putting up a website is only Step 1. Then comes the hard part, finding the e-commerce solution that’s right for you and getting customers to make a purchase AND come back for more gorgeous jewelry! (or whatever your product may be!) So how did we do it? Well, once we developed our branding and decided on product we wanted to create and sell, we launched our website. Then we sat there and watched it do very little for the first few months while we pushed and pushed through targeted Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and a few other social media outlet posts. You are not alone! Then, we connected with some really amazing fashion bloggers who agreed to review some of

Kutula Kiss Weaves Together Fashion And Peace

The jewelry that we wear tells a story. Charm bracelets show what we cherish, rings can represent our relationship status, and lockets keep our loved ones close. But Kutula Kiss stands out among the rest by choosing to make jewelry that ignites hope, empowerment, and peace – in the heart of the consumer and in the life of the artist who made it. Kutula Kiss was formed when founders Cindy Berg and Kathy Pettigrew took a trip to Colombia and fell in love with the country’s people, culture, and beauty. The fine craftsmanship of Colombian artisans inspired the duo to bring quality goods from South America to North America, while ensuring that the women who made them were supported, empowered, and paid fairly. Many of these women now have a dependable income that allows them to take care of their families and dream bigger than before. “We have been fortunate

Stay Beautifully Empowered With Vienna Victoria

Let’s face it: some situations just don’t call for a bag or a clutch. You shouldn’t have to worry about holding your purse at that music festival or baseball game just to touch up your lipstick during intermission or the seventh inning stretch. Jewelry designer Satin Van Cleef is on a mission to make sure that every woman stays gorgeously empowered all day long. That’s why she created Vienna Victoria, a fashion forward line of jewelry that conceals the make-up must-have that every woman wants the most: lipstick. “It is like handing over a jar of confidence,” she says. “A woman with lipstick is unstoppable.” Named after Satin’s daughters, every Vienna Victoria piece is made with Swarovski Elements and holds a hidden compact mirror with a fabulous lip color. “It’s no surprise that Vienna and Victoria are my inspiration, but I must say traveling with them gives me inspiration I could
