5 Ways to Start Taking Small Steps for Big Results

Often times I find myself sitting at my desk at my job, or at home at the dining room table, looking at my planner intently with overwhelm.  Whether it be big goals and changes for myself or my business that I am striving for or daily tasks that need to be done, I am frozen because I don’t know where to start, so I end up starting nowhere and sit there for another long period of time.  I want to do all of these big things, like lose twenty pounds, get to yoga 2-3 times a week, and actually run a 5K.  Even when we are frozen in completing out to-do lists, we all have to start somewhere. Less Stress, More Focus: Meditation for the Chaotic Mind

I am, for all intents and purposes, someone who is really, really bad at getting things done. No, really. It takes a special amount of motivation to get me to finish the things I start—from cleaning the kitchen, to making a schedule, to writing my novel. I have to be in the right mood; or at least in the right feeling. However, no matter how much I may not want to do something, life is such that I have to do things anyway (we’ve all been there). The biggest question I’ve had to answer for myself is this: how do I find more motivation within my life? How do I find more mindful productivity when the things I should be productive about feel more stressful than desirable? The clearest answer I’ve been able to find is meditation. To give myself time in my day to meditate, clear my mind, and

Do you ever feel like there’s not enough time in the day? Is “busy” your go-to response when people ask how you’re doing? I’m a business attorney for creative entrepreneurs. I love running my own law firm, but staying focused and productive is always a challenge for me. 5 Ways to Stop Procrastination

“Procrastination is one of the most common and deadliest diseases and its toll on success and happiness is heavy.” – Wayne Gretzky. When we have so much to do and so little time, we tend to put less desirable tasks at the bottom of the to-do list. No matter what those less desirable tasks are, they’re no fun, often take a lot of work, and we aren’t always sure how to approach them, so we don’t want to do them (or we just decide that procrastinating on Pinterest is a much better option). But, putting off these urgent, less desirable tasks doesn’t mean we don’t have to complete them anymore. They still need to get done – they’re important. So, instead the tasks are left to be done at the last minute, further adding to the stress of life. RELATED: How to Make Your To-Do List More Efficient “The last

How to Make Your To-Do List More Efficient

I was having one of those days. You know… the days you feel like your head is in a whirlwind of things you need to do and your mentally-written to-do list replays like a two-song play list. I frantically searched for my trusty notebook, which was already filled with lists I compulsively made, sometimes even in my sleep. After jotting a few tasks down, I felt a little better. I allowed myself to take a break and clear my head. I wanted to tackle my list, but I still had the sinking feeling of being overwhelmed. Looking at my list, I saw that my tasks required different kinds of attention, and multiple stops to make. I opened a fresh sheet of my notebook and divided a page into three parts. I decided to reformat my To-Do list to an Action List. The first third was my “action” list. These were things that needed to be
